Ciproxin is a brand of ciprofloxacin hydrochloride 500 mg, a potent broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections in adults and, where appropriate, children (per clinical guidance). Ciprofloxacin works by inhibiting bacterial DNA replication (DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV), effectively stopping the growth and spread of susceptible bacteria.

Key Indications:
Ciproxin 500 mg is commonly prescribed for the treatment of:

• Urinary tract infections (UTIs) (bladder and kidney infections)

• Respiratory tract infections (e.g., bronchitis or pneumonia)

• Gastrointestinal infections and traveller’s diarrhoea (when appropriate)

Mechanism of Action:
