Is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor prescribed for treating attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Strattera is available as a generic drug.

What Are Side Effects of Strattera?

Common side effects of Strattera include:

• trouble sleeping (insomnia),
• dry mouth,
• cough,
• decreased appetite,
• upset stomach,
• nausea or vomiting,
• dizziness,
• drowsiness,
• irritability,
• constipation,
• skin rash,
• itching,
• increased menstrual cramps, and
• sexual side effects including
  • impotence,
  • loss of interest in sex, or
  • trouble having an orgasm.

Tell your doctor if you have serious side effects of Strattera including:

• difficulty urinating,
• unusually fast or irregular heartbeat,
• fainting, or
• numbness or tingling.

Dosage for Strattera

Strattera dose ranges from 40mg/day to 100mg/day given in 1-2 divided doses.

What Drugs, Substances, or Supplements Interact with Strattera?

Strattera may interact with albuterol, amiodarone, bupropion, celecoxib, cimetidine, doxorubicin, methadone, metoclopramide, quinidine, ritonavir, ranitidine, terbinafine, antidepressants, antihistamines, or sleep medicines. Tell your doctor all medication and supplements you use.

Strattera During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding

Strattera may cause severe liver injury. There are no adequate studies of Strattera in pregnant women and it is not known if Strattera is secreted in human breast milk. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or plan to become pregnant or if you are breastfeeding before using Strattera.
