Tagrisso (active ingredient osimertinib) is a targeted cancer therapy used mainly to treat a type of lung cancer called non‑small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has certain genetic mutations in the EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) gene. 

• It belongs to a class of drugs known as EGFR tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs).

• The 80 mg tablet is the standard strength usually given once daily.

How do I take Tagrisso?

Use Tagrisso exactly as advised by your healthcare professional. 
Tagrisso is a drug that is normally administered on a daily basis.
The recommended treatment regimen is a daily 80mg dose of Tagrisso.
It can be given with or without food.
To make it easier to swallow or if you have trouble swallowing them whole, you can put your tablet in a glass with a small amount of water, such as 2 ounces or 60mL of water.
Stir until a crushing texture can be obtained with small pieces of the tablet (it will not break up completely). Do not crush, warm, or microwave the liquid mixture.
Drink the mixture immediately.

Add another 4 to 8 ounces of water (120 to 240 mL) to the glass, and you are supposed to swirl it and drink immediately to ensure you have gotten your complete dosage of Tagrisso.

Storage:

Store Tagrisso at a room temperature of 20°C to 25°C (68°F to 77°F).

The most common side effects of Tagrisso are:

low blood cell counts
muscle, bone, or joint pain
diarrhea
tiredness
cough, mouth sores
dry skin, rash or
redness, tenderness, pain, or other problems with your fingernails or toenails.
