How to Use Dronabinol Capsules

Dronabinol is available as capsules and oral solution.

For Chemotherapy-Induced Nausea and Vomiting

  • Take the first dose 1–3 hours before chemotherapy.

  • Continue taking it every 2–4 hours after chemotherapy, up to 4–6 doses daily.

For Appetite Stimulation

  • Usually taken twice a day, about 1 hour before lunch and dinner.

  • The first dose should be on an empty stomach, at least 30 minutes before eating. Later doses may be taken with or without food.

Important Instructions

  • Swallow capsules whole; do not chew or crush.

  • Use the provided oral syringe for liquid doses and take with a full glass of water (6–8 oz).

  • Store capsules in a cool place (46–59°F / 8–15°C) or refrigerator.
