Kesimpta is used in adults for treatment in patients with relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis such as clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease. The medication is given via self-administration and is injected subcutaneously each month after a short course of administration.

How do I take Kesimpta?

Use Kesimpta exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to use it. Kesimpta can be injected as an injection under your skin, in your thigh or abdominal area, by you or a caregiver. Your caregiver can also give you a shot in your upper arm area. For more information. Your healthcare provider will instruct you on how to properly mix and give this medication before you do so for the first time. Do not inject where skin may be tender, bruised, red, scaly, or hard to the touch. Avoid injecting in moles, scars, or overlapping stretch marks.

Dosing information:

Dosage of Kesimpta for relapsing forms of Multiple Sclerosis
Weeks 0,1,2: 20mg SC
Week 3: No injection
Weekly during week 4 and each month thereafter: 20 mg SC

Common side effects of Kesimpta include:

upper respiratory tract infections with complaints such as a

sore throat,

rhinorrhea, and

headache headache.
