Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate) is an immediate-release central nervous system (CNS) stimulant with a unique 50:50 ratio of dextroamphetamine and levoamphetamine. While most amphetamine-based medications are skewed toward dextroamphetamine, Evekeo’s balanced formula provides a distinct profile for managing ADHD, narcolepsy, and occasionally as a short-term treatment for obesity. The balanced enantiomer ratio is designed to provide more consistent stimulation of both the central and peripheral nervous systems, which some patients find more effective for certain ADHD symptoms compared to dextroamphetamine-heavy formulations.

Introduction
Evekeo (amphetamine sulfate tablets, USP) is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant prescription medicine used for the treatment of:
- A sleep disorder called narcolepsy.
- Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children 3 to 16 years of age. Evekeo may help increase attention and decrease impulsiveness and hyperactivity in people with ADHD.
- Exogenous obesity. Evekeo may be used as part of a short-term (a few weeks) weight reduction program for obesity in people who have not responded to other treatment.
Evekeo is not for use in children under 3 years of age.
What Are Side Effects of Evekeo?
Evekeo may cause serious side effects including:
- hives,
- difficulty breathing,
- swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat,
- changes in vision,
- chest pain or pressure,
- confusion,
- trouble speaking,
- fast or irregular heartbeat,
- fingers or toes that feel numb, cool, or painful,
- hallucination,
- loss of contact with reality,
- high blood pressure,
- a prolonged or painful penis erection,
- seizures,
- severe headaches,
- shortness of breath,
- thoughts of self-harm,
- mood changes,
- trouble walking,
- dizziness,
- loss of coordination or balance, and
- uncontrollable movements of head, mouth, neck, arm, or leg movement
Get medical help right away, if you have any of the symptoms listed above.
Common side effects of Evekeo include:
- headache,
- stomach ache,
- trouble sleeping (insomnia),
- decreased appetite,
- unpleasant taste in mouth,
- nervousness,
- dizziness,
- sexual problems (impotence in males),
- vomiting.
Seek medical care or call 911 at once if you have the following serious side effects:
- Serious eye symptoms such as sudden vision loss, blurred vision, tunnel vision, eye pain or swelling, or seeing halos around lights;
- Serious heart symptoms such as fast, irregular, or pounding heartbeats; fluttering in your chest; shortness of breath; and sudden dizziness, lightheadedness, or passing out;
- Severe headache, confusion, slurred speech, arm or leg weakness, trouble walking, loss of coordination, feeling unsteady, very stiff muscles, high fever, profuse sweating, or tremors.

Evekeo During Pregnancy and Breastfeeding
Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or become pregnant while taking Evekeo. It is unknown if Evekeo would harm a fetus. Evekeo passes into breast milk and can harm a nursing baby. Breastfeeding while taking Evekeo is not recommended. Withdrawal symptoms may occur if you suddenly stop taking Evekeo.
