MIFEPRIN 200MG TABLET contains Mifepristone which belongs to the group of medicines called Abortifacients and it is used for medical termination of pregnancy under careful medical supervision by women who have not crossed more than 63 days from the date of last menstrual period (first day of menses of the previous month).

It can also be combined with other or with prostaglandin therapy to facilitate the process of abortion. Make sure to inform your doctor if you have any sever liver, kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have high blood pressure, high blood cholesterol levels, any infections, blood clotting problems, anemia or malnutrition as a precaution.

How It Works

It works by blocking the actions of a female sex hormone called progesterone which is responsible for sustaining pregnancy. This causes shedding of the uterine layers which makes it more difficult for the foetus to implant and grow. It also increases the levels of certain chemicals (prostaglandins) in the uterus that can disrupt the uterine membranes, leading to abortion.

abdominal pain, infection, sepsis
heavy vaginal bleeding, fall in blood pressure due to excessive blood loss
signs of severe infection (such as fever, tiredness, weakness, muscle pain, rapid heart rate, dizziness, diarrhoea, vomiting)
