Restylane Silk

Product Information:

Restylane Silk is a dermal filler made from hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring sugar found in the body. HA attracts and binds water, adding volume and smoothing the skin. Restylane Silk also includes a small amount of lidocaine (0.3 %) to help reduce injection discomfort

It is part of the Restylane product family of cosmetic fillers, each tailored for specific facial uses.

Uses: 

Restylane Silk is FDA‑approved and intended for:

• Lip augmentation — adding subtle natural‑looking fullness to upper and lower lips.

• Correction of perioral lines — smoothing vertical lines and fine wrinkles around the mouth.

It’s generally indicated for adults over 21 years old.

How It Works:

Restylane Silk is a clear gel injected just under the skin using:

• Ultrafine needles

• Occasionally a blunt‑tip cannula

The HA gel adds immediate volume and smooths lines, while the body gradually metabolizes it over time. Results become visible right after treatment

Dosage: 

There’s no fixed “one size fits all” dose; dosing is tailored by your injector based on your anatomy and aesthetic goals. However:

• Commonly, 1 mL per treatment session is used for 

• Larger amounts may increase the chance of side effects (especially in lips)

Your provider will recommend the appropriate amount and whether a follow‑up session is needed.

Side Effects:

Most side effects are mild to moderate and temporary (lasting days to a couple of weeks). Common effects include:

Swelling
Redness
Bruising
Pain, tenderness or soreness at injection site
Lumps or bumps                                                                                          Itching
Headache (rare)
